Ashley and Elle built their careers running busy beauty clinics across Scotland. Long days, full diaries, clients coming in and out — and behind it all, the constant juggling of systems that never quite worked the way they needed them to.

Booking apps that were clunky.
Systems that charged more the more you grew.
Tools that helped you take bookings — but not actually run your business.

So like most practitioners, they made it work. Multiple tools. Workarounds. Notes in different places. Always adapting instead of being supported.

The breaking point

At some point, it became clear:

The industry had booking systems.
But it didn’t have a system built for how beauty businesses actually operate.

Not for managing clients properly.

Not for tracking treatments.

Not for working with prescribers.

Not for running a business day to day.

Just… booking slots.

So they built their own

My Little Black Book started as something simple:

“Let’s build the system we actually want to use.”
